Police Flex Muscles in Ayawaso East Ahead of By-Election

 

The Ghana Police Service has undertaken a show of force and route march in the Ayawaso East Constituency ahead of the upcoming by-election, demonstrating its commitment to maintaining peace and security in the area. The exercise, which saw a strong deployment of police personnel drawn from various units, was designed to reassure residents, deter potential troublemakers, and showcase the service’s readiness to respond swiftly to any security threat.

 

According to Prime News Ghana, the police operation was part of heightened security measures aimed at ensuring peace, security, law, and order before, during, and after the polls. The police personnel marched through principal streets within the constituency, emphasizing their commitment to providing a safe environment for all stakeholders.

 

The Ayawaso East by-election is scheduled to take place on March 3, 2026, and the police are leaving nothing to chance. In a statement, ASP Ansong Ayrakwa of the Ghana Police Service outlined comprehensive security measures put in place to ensure a safe electoral environment, assuring participants of the police service’s commitment to collaborating with stakeholders to guarantee free, fair, transparent, and violence-free elections.
