Speaking to the media after successfully emerging from the vetting process, Mr. Ankutse said: “There have been a few issues but we’ve been able to clear them and I’ve emerged successfully after the nomination.”
He said his decision to contest is driven by the need to strengthen the financial base of the party in the Volta Region.
Mr. Ankutse expressed strong optimism about his chances, citing his number one position on the ballot as a sign of divine favour: “I am number 1 on the ballot box, this shows that I am leading, this shows that God is with me, this shows that on the 15th November, I’ll be elected as the Deputy Treasurer of the NDC in the Volta Region.”
He pledged to be transparent, accountable and innovative in mobilizing resources for the party if elected.
