The National Service Authority (NSA) has reaffirmed its commitment to the prompt and transparent payment of allowances to Service Personnel, as Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS) completes the essential verification process for onward disbursement. According to the NSA, all verified and legitimate arrears will be cleared by the close of the week.
The Authority’s Acting Director-General, Mr. Felix Gyamfi, assured Service Personnel that concrete steps are being taken to expedite the payment of outstanding allowances. “We have other people, teachers, and I think nurses, who were paid through the old platform, E-zwich. With E-zwich, when payments are made, it takes time to reflect. However, by today, Monday, they will see their payments reflected in their accounts,” he stated.
The delay in disbursement is attributed to an ongoing verification process by GhIPSS, necessary to ensure accuracy and uphold financial integrity. The NSA has commended Service Personnel for their patience and resilience during this period, noting that their contributions to national development remain deeply valued and appreciated.
The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has advanced funds to cover two months of allowances, and the NSA is working to clear the outstanding arrears. Service Personnel can expect timely updates through official communication channels as efforts continue to resolve the issue.
The NSA’s commitment to prompt payment is a welcome relief to Service Personnel who have been facing financial hardships due to delayed allowances. The Authority’s assurance is expected to boost morale and motivation among Service Personnel as they continue to contribute to national development.
