Ho Central MP Pays Homage To Togbe Afede XIV
Ho Central Member of Parliament is set to pay homage to Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of Asogli State on 2nd October 2026 as part of activities marking this year’s Yam Festival celebrations.
The Ho Central Constituency NDC Member of Parliament will join chiefs, departments, agencies, businesses and individuals to honour the Agbogbomefia when he sits in state at the Asogli Palace forecourt in Ho-Bankoe. The homage is a key tradition of the annual Teza (Yam Festival).
Annually, the Paramount Chief of the Asogli State sits in state as part of the Teza celebrations, receiving homage and charitable donations in aid of development projects in the Asogli State. The festival, which highlights unity, reconciliation, stocktaking and development, also serves as a platform for re-affirming allegiance to the Agbogbome Stool.
The 2026 edition is expected to attract political leaders, corporate bodies, traditional leaders from across Volta Region and the diaspora, as well as residents of Ho. The Ho Central MP’s homage is seen as a demonstration of respect for traditional authority and commitment to the development agenda of the Asogli State.
The Asogli Yam Festival is one of the most celebrated traditional festivals in the Volta Region, drawing thousands to Ho each year. Beyond the cultural display, it has become a major avenue for mobilizing resources for education, youth development and community projects under the leadership of Togbe Afede XIV.
The Ho Central MP is expected to make a charitable donation in support of the Teza celebrations and reaffirm collaboration between the constituency and the Asogli Traditional Council for development. More activities, including a grand durbar, are lined up to climax this year’s festival.
