An Enterprising Life

“She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she
planteth a vineyard.” — Proverbs 31:16 KJV
An enterprising life is a life that sees opportunity and takes it. It does not wait for things to
happen, it makes things happen by wisdom and diligence.God is enterprising. He created, He
planted, He blessed, He multiplied. You are made in His image, so you are called to create, plant,
build, and multiply. “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply,
and replenish the earth, and subdue it” — Genesis 1:28 KJV.

Enterprising does not mean anxious striving. It means thoughtful planning, faithful working, and
joyful building. The virtuous woman considered before she bought. She worked with her hands
and her mind. She turned ideas into income and labour into legacy. “The soul of the sluggard
desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat” — Proverbs 13:4
KJV.God delights in enterprise that honours Him. When your hands find something good to do,
do it with all your might. When your mind receives a God idea, steward it. Faith without enterprise
is barren, but faith with enterprise bears fruit.An enterprising life is not idle, it is fruitful. It leaves
things better than it met them.

We live enterprisingly by the Spirit. “And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and
in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, To devise cunning works”
— Exodus 31:3-4 KJV. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, He fills you with ideas, skill, and
creativity to devise and to do enterprisingly for the glory of God.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for making me fruitful and creative like You. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and
empower me to live an enterprising life. Give me wisdom to see opportunity, diligence to work
faithfully, and grace to bring increase to all You have placed in my hands. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
