Mahama Champions African Financial Reform at Nairobi Summit

 

Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the Africa Forward Summit, a high-level France-Africa partnership meeting. According to #(link unavailable), President Mahama’s visit aims to strengthen collaboration on sustainable development, economic resilience, and strategic partnerships between Africa and the international community.

 

The summit, organized by French President Emmanuel Macron, brings together African Heads of State, global business leaders, and international partners to promote cooperation on key development priorities. President Mahama is expected to co-chair a roundtable discussion on health, focusing on “Rethinking Global Health and Building Resilient National Health Systems” as part of the Accra Reset Initiative.

 

On the sidelines of the summit, President Mahama will hold bilateral meetings with prominent global leaders, including UN Secretary-General António Guterres, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, and IFAD President Alvaro Lario. These engagements will focus on global cooperation, economic stability, food security, and development priorities for Ghana and Africa.

 

As AU Champion for African Financial Institutions, President Mahama will participate in a working lunch on reforms to the International Financial Architecture, aiming to improve African countries’ access to sustainable financing and create a more equitable global financial system.

 

The Africa Forward Summit reflects France’s renewed commitment to Africa, emphasizing partnerships, innovation, and growth. The event is expected to yield concrete commitments and a new model of partnership between Africa and France.
