Bagbin Commissions Awudome Traditional Council Building

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has commissioned the renovated Awudome Traditional Council building in Ho West, emphasizing the importance of preserving culture and identity as the bedrock of development. The event was attended by the Volta Regional Minister and other dignitaries, who witnessed the significant milestone for the Traditional Area.
According to the Speaker, chieftaincy comes with a sacred responsibility to promote peace and unity, and traditional institutions must be strengthened as symbols of these values. He reflected on the importance of collaboration between government and traditional leadership to accelerate development across the Region.
The renovated building will serve as a hub for the Traditional Council’s activities, promoting cultural heritage and community engagement. The Speaker also cut sod for the construction of an 8-unit classroom block at Anyirawasi E.P. Primary School, demonstrating his commitment to education and community development.
The Volta Region, with about 100 paramountcies, is poised to leverage its traditional institutions to drive progress. The Regional Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to partnering with traditional leaders to promote peace, unity, and development.
The event highlighted the critical role of traditional institutions in Ghana’s development agenda. By preserving cultural heritage and promoting social cohesion, traditional leaders can contribute significantly to national development.
