Adutwum Pledges Unwavering Support for Bawumia

Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, a former Education Minister and NPP presidential aspirant, has pledged his full support to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the newly elected flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Adutwum’s declaration came after a courtesy call on Bawumia at his residence in Accra, where he offered congratulations and assured him of his unwavering support.

According to GhanaWeb, Adutwum’s visit was a show of solidarity and unity within the party as it prepares for the 2028 general elections. The former minister emphasized the importance of collective effort and cooperation among party members, urging all supporters to rally behind Bawumia for the greater good of the party and the nation.

Adutwum, who lost to Bawumia in the recently concluded NPP presidential primaries, described the electoral process as a reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in Bawumia by party delegates nationwide. He stated that he fully respects the outcome of the election and the will of the party’s delegates.

“I will do my very best to support the flagbearer; anything that he wants me to do, I will do it because the New Patriotic Party’s vision is to develop this nation in freedom,” Adutwum said in a video shared on social media.

Bawumia, who won the primaries with 56.48% of the total votes cast, has been receiving congratulations and pledges of support from various party stalwarts, including Adutwum. The NPP is expected to present a united front as it gears up for the 2028 general elections.

The gesture by Adutwum is seen as a significant step towards consolidating party unity, following a keenly contested internal race.
