NEW YORK — Two years into his second term, President Donald Trump is still trying to wipe his 2024 felony conviction from the books.
A panel of New York appellate justices on Thursday heard Trump’s legal challenges to his conviction on falsifying business records to cover up hush money payments to influence the 2016 presidential election.
Trump was convicted in 2024 on 34 counts of falsifying business records. The case centred on payments made to conceal alleged hush money payments during the 2016 campaign, a verdict that made him the first former US president to be convicted of a felony.
💬 Howedey Insight: Even from the White House, Trump cannot escape his New York conviction. Will the appeal court clear his name — or keep the felony on the record?
