Speaking to party faithful in Kumasi on Friday, October 9, 2026, after his election as National Chairman, John Boadu said the Constitutional Amendments Committee completed its work transparently and all proposals were adopted by consensus at the National Delegates Conference in July 2026. He said claims of confusion over the amendments are being peddled by detractors who want to derail NPP’s unity agenda ahead of 2028.
The National Chairman noted that the new constitution has been filed at the Electoral Commission and will guide the party’s upcoming polling station and constituency elections in early 2027. He urged all members, including supporters of Kennedy Agyapong and other flagbearer aspirants, to study the amended constitution and comply fully.
Political analysts say Boadu’s assurance is critical to calm tensions within the NPP following a heated national executives election where he defeated incumbent Chairman Stephen Ntim. With Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong and Bryan Acheampong camps all watching closely, Boadu has vowed to be a father for all and lead NPP to victory in 2028.
