Knowing Your Worth

“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” — 1 Corinthians 6:20 KJV

You are not worthless. You are not an accident. You are not what people said about you. Your worth is not measured by money, by followers, by degrees, or by approval. Your worth is measured by the price God paid for you. And God paid with the blood of His own Son. If you want to know how valuable you are, look at the cross. The devil’s strategy is to make you forget your worth, so you live cheaply. When you don’t know your worth, you accept anything, you tolerate sin, you beg for what you should command. But when you know your worth, you walk differently.
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye
should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelouslight”
— 1 Peter 2:9 KJV. You are chosen, you are royal, you are holy, you are peculiar — you belong to
God.

You are not defined by your mistakes. You are defined by what God says about you. God says you
are fearfully and wonderfully made. God says you are His workmanship. God says you are the apple of His eye. “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy
works; and that my soul knoweth right well” — Psalm 139:14 KJV. Until your soul knows this well,
you will live below what God has prepared for you.

We know our worth by the Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who reveals to us who we are in Christ. He
does not make you proud; He makes you aware. He opens your eyes to see that you are a child
of God, an heir of God, and a joint-heir with Christ. “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our
spirit, that we are the children of God” — Romans 8:16 KJV. When the Spirit bears witness,
inferiority dies and boldness rises. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, He heals your self-
esteem. He delivers you from comparison, from rejection, from shame. You stop begging for love
because you know you are loved. You stop chasing validation because you know you are valued.
You glorify God in your body and spirit because you know you belong to Him.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for loving me and paying the highest price for me. Fill me with Your Holy
Spirit and open my eyes to know my worth in Christ. I reject every lie of worthlessness and I
receive Your truth — I am chosen, I am royal, I am Your own. I will glorify You with my life. Amen.
