Binding Wounds

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” — Psalm 147:3 KJV

God is a wound binder. He does not just forgive sin; He heals wounds. Many are saved but sore, delivered but damaged, anointed but aching. They smile outside but bleed inside. God sees the wounds people cannot see — the wounds of betrayal, the wounds of rejection, the wounds of abuse, the wounds of disappointment. And He binds them.

To bind a wound is to carefully attend to it. God does not ignore your wound; He binds it. He does not rush your healing; He attends to it. “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings” — Malachi 4:2 KJV.

In His wings there is healing. When you draw close to Him, He lays His healing hands upon the broken places of your life and binds up what was torn. Some wounds were caused by people, some by your own mistakes, some by life itself. But no matter the source, God is able to heal. Jesus came for this very purpose. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me… to heal the brokenhearted” — Luke 4:18 KJV.

His anointing is for broken hearts. His power is for wounded souls. He heals not just bodies, but hearts. You must allow God to bind your wounds. Many hide their wounds, cover them, pretend they are not there, but hidden wounds fester. God can only bind what you expose to Him. In His presence, open your heart. Tell Him where it hurts. Let Him touch it. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” — Matthew 11:28 KJV.

Rest comes when wounds are bound. We are healed by the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the binder of wounds. He is the Comforter. He comforts you where you were hurt, He soothes you where you were pained, He pours oil and wine upon your wounds like the Good Samaritan. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, He heals you from the inside out, and your heart becomes whole again.

Prayer: Father, thank You for healing the brokenhearted and binding up wounds. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit today and heal every hidden wound in my heart. I bring my pain to You — bind me up, restore me, and make me whole. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
