Accra High Court: EOCO Officer Clashes With Lawyer
Another angle of a heated altercation inside the Accra High Court has surfaced showing a physical confrontation involving an alleged officer of the Economic and Organised Crime Office after lawyer Baffour Awuah Agyei, counsel for detained Techiman-based nurse Salomey Baffoe Awiti, declined an alleged invitation from EOCO in the ongoing Ghana Jollof case. The incident unfolded at the court premises on Tuesday.
The video credited to TINA NEWS GH captures shouting and shoving as court attendees tried to separate the parties. Salomey Baffoe Awiti, a nurse based in Techiman, is at the centre of the controversial Ghana Jollof case which has drawn national attention over detention and investigative procedures. Her lawyer reportedly questioned the mode of invitation and insisted on proper legal procedure inside the court precinct.
According to Baffour Awuah Agyei, he declined the verbal invitation because it lacked formal process and his client was already before the court. The alleged EOCO officer is seen insisting, leading to the confrontation that interrupted activities briefly before security restored order.
