A Life of Honour

“A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and
gold.” — Proverbs 22:1 KJV

Honour is a life language. It is how you treat God, how you treat people, and how you treat what
God has placed in your hands. A life of honour is not about being honoured, it is about living
honourably.Honour begins with God. “Them that honour me I will honour” — 1 Samuel 2:30 KJV. When you honour God with your time, your heart, your body, your substance, He honours you with His presence and His weight. Honour for God puts you on God’s side.

Honour also flows to people. To parents, to leaders, to spouses, to one another. “Honour all men.
Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king” — 1 Peter 2:17 KJV. Honour sees the value God placed in a person even when their behaviour is not perfect. Honour lifts, it does not belittle.
Honour covers, it does not expose.

A life of honour chooses a good name over quick gain. It refuses to cut corners, lie, cheat, or
gossip to get ahead. It keeps its word. It pays its vows. “He that walketh uprightly, and worketh
righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart” — Psalm 15:2 KJV.

God honours an honourable life. Men may forget, but God remembers honour.We live honourably by the Spirit. “That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without” — 1 Thessalonians 4:12
KJV. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, He teaches you to walk honestly, love sincerely, and honour truly. The Spirit makes your life weighty with honour.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for honouring me with Your love. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and teach me to
live a life of honour before You and before men. Let my words, my walk, and my work carry honour
and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
