Hashmin Mohammed Extends CSSPS Resolution Centres To September

The Press Secretary to the Education Minister Hashmin Mohammed has announced the extension of operations at the Computerised School Selection and Placement System resolution centres to Friday September 18 in Accra to address outstanding placement cases.

The directive extends the lifespan of centres established nationwide to resolve anomalies, unplaced candidates and school change requests following the release of senior high school placements. Officers have been tasked to work extended hours to clear the backlog.

Mohammed stated that the Ministry remains committed to ensuring every qualified candidate secures appropriate placement without undue bureaucratic impediment. He said additional personnel and technical support have been deployed to enhance system efficiency and minimise waiting periods at resolution points.

The Ministry is targeting full resolution of outstanding cases by September 18, urging parents and guardians to utilise the centres with authentic documentation and to remain vigilant against unscrupulous intermediaries. The portal remains accessible for self-checking and verification.

The CSSPS was introduced to streamline second-cycle admissions through merit-based automation, yet annual exercises often generate grievances related to programme mismatch, geographical preferences and system overload. The establishment of resolution centres has become a critical intervention to restore confidence and equity.

The Ministry assures that security agencies and regional directorates will continue monitoring centres for orderliness and transparency. Parents are encouraged to adhere to official channels as government intensifies reforms to expand infrastructure, improve selection data accuracy and guarantee inclusive access to secondary education.
