Condemnation Of Unilateral Sanctions:
Leaders on day one strongly condemned unilateral coercive measures and sanctions imposed outside international law, arguing that such actions destabilize supply chains and punish developing economies. The declaration emphasized that punitive extraterritorial enforcement must be rejected as it violates the United Nations Charter and undermines sovereign development pathways.
Alarm Over Fragmentation And War Spending:
The communiqué voiced deep alarm over growing global fragmentation and the escalating diversion of resources towards war spending, warning that militarization erodes development gains. Heads of state insisted that excessive war spending must be eliminated and redirected toward climate resilience, food security and poverty alleviation.
China To Host Next Summit:
At the close of day one, leaders confirmed that China will host next year’s summit to drive implementation of the New Delhi outcomes. The summit continues tomorrow with outreach sessions and bilateral engagements before formal closure.
