The legislator described the document as a fabrication calculated to tarnish her reputation and sow disaffection within the minority caucus.
In a strongly worded rebuttal, the Asokwa lawmaker stated that she neither authored nor authorized the said memorandum and had no knowledge of its origin until it surfaced on social media platforms. She further dismissed as spurious and defamatory suggestions that she had accepted seventy thousand Ghana cedis as payment for political manoeuvring. The denial comes amid heightened tension over internal deliberations within the minority front.
The legislator is quoted as saying the forged correspondence represents a dangerous descent into political impersonation and disinformation. She emphasized her unwavering commitment to ethical leadership and parliamentary integrity, insisting that her record remains unblemished by pecuniary influence. She has therefore urged the public to disregard the document in its entirety.
The rebuttal was contained in an official statement issued from her office dated fourth September, twenty twenty six, which explicitly disowned both the content and the intent of the counterfeit memorandum.
The incident has reignited concerns over the proliferation of falsified official documents targeting high-ranking public officials, a trend that security analysts warn could erode public trust in democratic institutions.
