Lead with Integrity and Strong Family Values- Mahama
President John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaian men to demonstrate their faith through integrity, responsible leadership and service to society, stressing that genuine faith is measured by character and actions rather than status or public office.
The President made the remarks when he joined the Men’s Ministry of the Assemblies of God Church at the Gomoa Pentecost Convention Centre for its Faith Conference, where he addressed participants on the role of faith in shaping families, communities and national development.
In his address, President Mahama underscored the importance of faith, character and leadership, stating that every generation requires men of faith who are committed to living exemplary lives.
He emphasized that holding high office or possessing wealth does not make a person faithful, noting that true faith is reflected in one’s conduct and service to others.
“Being President does not prove that I am a man of faith. It is my character and my works that will prove that I am a man of faith,” he told the gathering.
The President urged Ghanaians to express their faith in practical ways through the treatment of their spouses, the upbringing of their children, the responsible management of public resources, the manner in which they speak about others, and their willingness to serve their communities.
According to him, integrity, accountability and selfless service are the defining characteristics of genuine faith and should guide both personal and public life.
President Mahama identified obedience to God, integrity of character, love for one’s family and service to others as the four essential pillars of a life rooted in faith. He encouraged men to embrace these values as they strive to provide leadership within their homes, workplaces and communities.
He also reflected on the challenges confronting families and society, including what he described as growing moral confusion, changing social values and the gradual erosion of the traditional extended family support system.
Despite these challenges, the President encouraged Ghanaians to remain steadfast in their faith and continue to uphold strong family values, which he said are essential to building a united and prosperous nation.
Concluding his address, President Mahama reminded participants that a person’s character is the clearest evidence of their faith.
“Your character is a reflection of your faith,” he stated, urging believers to live lives that inspire others through honesty, compassion and unwavering commitment to doing what is right.
