Saint Kitts and Nevis PM Strengthens Ghana Ties

 

 

The Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, The Honourable Dr. Terrance Michael Drew, arrived in Ghana on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, for a four-day official visit aimed at bolstering bilateral relations between the two nations. Dr. Drew’s visit coincides with Ghana’s 69th Independence Day celebrations, and he is expected to join dignitaries and citizens at the national parade on Friday, March 6.

 

According to #PrimeNewsGhana, the Prime Minister was received at the airport by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), and was accompanied by his wife and government officials. Dr. Drew’s itinerary includes meetings with government officials, academics, and traditional leaders. He will engage with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana and participate in bilateral discussions at the Presidency.

 

The Prime Minister will also visit key cultural and historical landmarks, including the W.E.B. Du Bois Memorial Centre, the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, and the Cape Coast Castle. Additionally, he will pay a courtesy call on the Omanhene of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II.

 

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister of Government Communications, emphasized that Ghana and Saint Kitts and Nevis have been actively strengthening bilateral relations through South-South cooperation, focusing on exchange programs in education, health, trade, investment, and technology.

 

The visit is expected to yield concrete agreements in areas of mutual interest, particularly in educational exchanges and technical cooperation. The meeting at the University of Ghana suggests potential academic partnerships, while the trade and investment focus points to opportunities for private sector engagement between the two economies.

 

As Ghana and Saint Kitts and Nevis continue to deepen ties, the international community awaits the outcomes of Dr. Drew’s visit, expected to yield new opportunities for collaboration and growth.
