UPSA Unveils Maiden Laptop Assembly Plant Producing 1000 Daily

The plant, which has the capacity to assemble 1,000 laptops per day, is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and hands-on technological expertise. According to management, students will be directly involved in the assembling, testing, and maintenance processes, giving them real-world experience in ICT manufacturing and entrepreneurship.
The project is expected to create internship opportunities, generate internally generated funds for the university, and provide affordable laptops for students and the public. Industry partners present at the event lauded UPSA for leading the charge in local tech manufacturing within Ghana’s higher education space.
UPSA is now positioning itself as a hub for technology and innovation in Ghana’s tertiary education sector, with the new plant expected to attract collaborations from both local and international tech firms.
