The Ghana Oil Company (GOIL) has announced a targeted pricing intervention, maintaining the National Petroleum Authority (NPA)-approved floor price of GH¢9.99 per litre for petrol and extending discounted diesel prices across 200 selected outlets nationwide. This move is expected to cushion customers from cost pressures while remaining compliant with regulatory guidelines.
According to a statement from GOIL’s Corporate Affairs Department, the initiative is designed to protect vulnerable segments of society, particularly commercial drivers, public transport operators, farmers, traders, and low-income households, who are most affected by transport and food costs. The selected outlets are strategically located along major transport corridors and near commercial vehicle terminals to ensure the benefits reach areas facing significant economic pressures.
GOIL’s decision to match the regulated floor price and discount diesel reflects its commitment to supporting customers during periods of economic adjustment. The company’s products continue to meet and exceed regulatory specifications, enhanced with advanced performance additives, ensuring engine efficiency, durability, and superior value for money.
The pricing intervention is part of GOIL’s broader efforts to balance commercial sustainability with socio-economic responsibility. By aligning its prices with the NPA floor and extending relief on diesel, GOIL sets the standard for responsible competition in the downstream petroleum sector.
This initiative is expected to help stabilise transport fares, reduce the cost of moving food from farms to markets, and moderate prices of essential goods. GOIL encourages motorists and transport operators to take advantage of the reduced prices at the designated stations.
GOIL remains steadfast in its mission to provide “Good Energy” – energy that is affordable, dependable, and impactful – to power Ghana’s growth and support everyday lives.
