North Tongu DCE Supports Differently Abled Persons

Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, the District Chief Executive of North Tongu, has rounded off the year with a special engagement programme aimed at supporting differently abled persons in the district. Thirty-six beneficiaries received livelihood and business-enhancing items, including cassava processing machines, electric sewing machines, freezers with ice chests, and essential provisions.

The programme brought together beneficiaries, their support systems, family members, and Assembly Members, providing an opportunity to connect, assess needs, and celebrate resilience. This initiative reinforced the importance of inclusion, collaboration, and sustained support for differently abled persons, while encouraging beneficiaries to leverage the assistance provided to start or enhance their businesses.

Hon. Doe emphasized that throughout the year, the district has invested in education, health, and economic empowerment, ensuring that no one is left behind in the development of North Tongu. The programme was a meaningful close to a year of community empowerment and a reminder that together, opportunities can be created to improve lives, foster independence, and build a prosperous North Tongu.

The beneficiaries were grateful for the support, which will help them start or enhance their businesses. Hon. Doe’s initiative has shown that with collaboration and sustained support, differently abled persons can overcome challenges and contribute to the development of their communities.
