Immigration Officer Accused of Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend
An immigration officer, Richard Kwabena Mensah Kwafo, has been accused of physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Dorothy Laryea, in a shocking incident that has sparked public outrage. The alleged assault occurred on December 31, 2025, after a church service at The Church of Pentecost, Dr Wyatt Assembly in Kokomlemle.
According to Dorothy Laryea, she had ended her relationship with Richard due to repeated abuse and threats, but the officer’s behavior continued even after their breakup. She claims that on the day of the incident, Richard confronted her on the church premises and demanded to speak with her privately.
A video circulating on social media shows community youths confronting Richard, demanding answers for his alleged actions. The footage captures the tense atmosphere, with the youths questioning Richard’s behavior and accusing him of being foolish for beating a woman.
The alleged assault has left Dorothy with visible injuries, including black eyes and a swollen mouth. The incident has sparked widespread condemnation, with many calling for Richard to face justice.
The Ghana Immigration Service has yet to comment on the matter, but the incident has raised concerns about the conduct of security personnel.
