US Urges Americans to Flee Israel Amidst Rising Tensions

The US government has advised Americans seeking to evacuate from Israel to make their own security plans as its embassy is not in a position to directly assist citizens. This comes as tensions escalate in the region, with the US and Israel carrying out strikes against Iran.
According to the US Embassy in Jerusalem, Americans in Israel who wish to leave the country should do so via Egypt, as commercial air traffic across the region has been disrupted. The embassy has ordered all US government employees and their family members to shelter in place in and near their residences until further notice.
US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, advised Americans to take buses from Israeli cities to Taba, then limited flights or ground transport to Cairo, where the airport is operating normally. “The options are fairly limited,” Huckabee said in a video message, adding that the airport is closed and it’s unclear when it will reopen or how many flights will be available.
The US Department of State has urged Americans to immediately depart more than a dozen countries in the Middle East, including Israel, due to safety risks. The countries include Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
The advisory comes as the conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran intensifies, with missile exchanges and increased military activity. The State Department has warned that the security environment in Israel remains unpredictable, with risks ranging from rocket and missile fire to armed drone intrusions and terrorist attacks.
The US government emphasizes that Americans should make their own security arrangements, as the embassy cannot guarantee safety or recommend specific options.
