
President John Dramani Mahama is co-chairing the High-Level segment of the global One Health Summit in Lyon, France, alongside French President Emmanuel Macron. The summit brings together world leaders, health ministers, and global experts to advance solutions for stronger health systems, sustainable food production, and coordinated action against global health challenges.
According to the Presidency, President Mahama will deliver two keynotes, focusing on reforms to global health initiatives and Ghana’s vision for global health security. His first keynote will be during a session on Global Health Architecture, co-chaired by President Macron and WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
The summit aims to address pressing global health issues, including pandemic preparedness, climate-related health risks, and cross-border disease control. President Mahama’s participation underscores Ghana’s commitment to shaping international health policies and strengthening partnerships with key global actors.
As founder of the Accra Reset Initiative, President Mahama is expected to highlight Ghana’s leadership in fostering collaborative, cross-sectoral solutions to emerging health threats. His second keynote will outline Ghana’s commitments and perspectives on global health security.
The One Health Summit is a significant platform for global health discussions, and President Mahama’s involvement is expected to reinforce Ghana’s position as a key player in international health diplomacy.
