Statue Unveiled to Honor JB Danquah’s Legacy

Former President John Akufo-Addo has commissioned a statue in Akyem Adadienntem to honor the late Dr. Kwame Kyeretwie Boakye Danquah, also known as JB Danquah, on the 61st anniversary of his passing. According to Ghana News Agency, the ceremony was attended by family members, traditional leaders, and politicians.
The statue is a tribute to JB Danquah’s contributions to Ghana’s independence struggle and his role as a founding father of the nation. In a speech, former President Akufo-Addo praised JB Danquah’s vision and leadership, highlighting his commitment to democracy and national development.
JB Danquah was a prominent politician, lawyer, and writer who played a key role in Ghana’s fight for independence. He was a founding member of the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC) and served as the party’s first president.
The unveiling of the statue is part of efforts to preserve JB Danquah’s legacy and inspire future generations. The event was marked by traditional ceremonies and tributes from dignitaries.
The statue is located in JB Danquah’s hometown of Akyem Adadienntem, where he was born in 1895. The site is expected to become a tourist attraction and a symbol of national pride.
