Deputy Chief of Staff in Crosshairs Over GHC11M Contract

A high-stakes scandal is engulfing the presidency, with allegations of conflict of interest and corruption swirling around Deputy Chief of Staff Stan Dogbe. The controversy centers on a sole-sourced contract worth GHC11 million awarded to Correca Ghana Limited, a company owned by Dogbe and his brother, Woelinam Dogbe, who is also the Deputy Director-General of SSNIT.

According to #InvestigativeReports, the contract was for the renovation of the Goldbod office, formerly occupied by the Bank of Ghana. However, questions have been raised about the legitimacy of the contract, given that Correca Ghana Limited’s Works and Housing Certificate had expired, and the company had only recently obtained a PPA certificate.

The timing of the contract award has raised eyebrows, with many wondering how a company with expired certificates could secure a government contract. The fact that Stan Dogbe, as Deputy Chief of Staff, is responsible for government appointees and has significant influence over them, has led to accusations of undue advantage.

The scandal has sparked concerns about corruption and abuse of power, with many calling for a thorough investigation. “This is a clear case of conflict of interest and a blatant disregard for procurement rules,” said a governance expert.

The presidency has remained tight-lipped about the scandal, but sources close to the matter indicate that an internal investigation is underway.
