NDC's Worlasi Dogbey Backs Tanko Computer's Claims on NPP's Decline

Raphael Worlasi Dogbey, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has thrown his weight behind Rashid Tanko Computer’s assertions that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) began losing its core values in 2007 after Nana Akufo-Addo was chosen as flag bearer over Alan Kyerematen. According to Worlasi Dogbey, Tanko Computer’s comments are a reflection of the truth, and he wishes the NPP all the best, emphasizing the need for a viable opposition to keep the government in check ¹.
Speaking on Ewenyigba TV’s Morning Show with Tony Mark-Boye, Worlasi Dogbey expressed his confidence in the NDC’s strength, stating that they are not worried about the NPP’s internal dynamics. He believes that the NDC is focused on governance and accountability, rather than engaging in propaganda.
Tanko Computer had previously argued that the NPP’s decision to elect Nana Akufo-Addo as flag bearer instead of Alan Kyerematen marked the beginning of the party’s decline. He described the NPP as a once-strong and disciplined political force that has become fragmented.
Worlasi Dogbey’s comments come amid growing concerns about the NPP’s internal conflicts and leadership tensions. A political scientist, Dr. Akwasi Amakye Boateng, has also expressed concerns about the NPP’s situation, blaming the party’s current leadership for its problems ².
