Police Uncover Narcotics Haul in Dambai

The Ghana Police Service has made a significant breakthrough in their fight against narcotics trafficking, intercepting a large quantity of suspected drugs concealed in a DAF Long Trailer with registration number GW 1943 – 09. According to Ghana Police Service, the truck was intercepted on February 10, 2026, in Dambai, Oti Region.
The truck, which appeared empty at the time of inspection, had six secret compartments cleverly concealed under the trailer. The compartments were sealed, but upon opening, they revealed a staggering 4000 parcels of substances wrapped in yellow masking tape, suspected to be narcotics.
The discovery was made in the presence of the 40-year-old suspect, Amidu Jubril, who is currently assisting the police with their investigation. The exhibits, including the truck and the suspected narcotics, have been detained.
“We are committed to fighting drug trafficking and will leave no stone unturned in our investigation,” said a police spokesperson. “The public is assured that we will do everything possible to bring the perpetrators to justice.”
The police operation highlights the country’s ongoing struggle with narcotics trafficking. Ghana has become a transit point for drug traffickers, and the authorities are working to curb the trend.
The seizure is a significant win for the police, and the public is eagerly awaiting further developments. The case is expected to be brought before court soon.
