Ken’s Kata: Bawumia’s Plea for Apology Falls on Deaf Ears

In a surprising turn of events, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, a special aide to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has seemingly thrown in the towel on seeking an apology from Kennedy Agyapong over his scathing attacks on the NPP flagbearer. Aboagye’s change of heart comes after Agyapong refused to retract his comments, with Aboagye stating that it’s clear the lack of apology isn’t about Bawumia, but rather Agyapong’s nature.
According to him , Agyapong had labelled Bawumia a liar during a campaign event, prompting widespread criticism. Aboagye had previously demanded an unqualified apology from Agyapong, stating that Bawumia deserved one. However, Agyapong remained defiant, saying “I will apologise my foot”.
The controversy has sparked debate within the NPP, with some questioning Agyapong’s suitability for leadership. Bawumia’s allies have rebuked Agyapong’s comments, describing them as absurd and contradictory. The exchange highlights the intense rivalry within the party as it prepares for future electoral contests.
Aboagye praised Bawumia’s measured response to the attacks, saying he kept his emotions in check. The incident underscores the challenges faced by politicians in Ghana’s competitive political landscape.
