Chairman Wontumi Loses Sister Regina Wiafe

Former NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has lost his dear sister Madam Regina Wiafe Antwi, with the family scheduling September 30 2026 for the one week observation of the late Madam.

The death was announced by close family sources on Saturday, with tributes pouring in for Madam Regina Wiafe Antwi who is described as a pillar of the Antwi Boasiako family. Chairman Wontumi who is currently serving a 20 year prison sentence has been hit by the loss at a difficult period, according to party associates.

According to the family, the one week observation will be held on September 30 2026, where sympathizers, NPP executives, friends and traditional leaders are expected to gather to console the bereaved family and announce funeral arrangements.

Chairman Wontumi served as Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party for over a decade and remains one of the most influential grassroots mobilizers in the party history.
