Ahiafor Rallies NDC to Founder’s Vision

A clarion call for ideological renewal reverberated within the National Democratic Congress as Comrade Richard Ahiafor, Ho Central Constituency Chairman Hopeful, invoked the party’s mass-mobilisation heritage and appealed for a renaissance of its pioneering spirit during commemorations of the party’s founding anniversary.
According to Comrade Richard Ahiafor, the NDC remains an instrument of the populace, conceived to champion equity, social justice, and grassroots empowerment. He asserted that the anniversary should reignite the ethos and philosophies bequeathed by the party’s founder, rekindling a collective conscience anchored in service to ordinary citizens.
National Democratic Congress, internal reorganisation processes are slated across constituencies to strengthen structures, deepen accountability, and recalibrate strategic direction ahead of forthcoming electoral cycles. According to a letter authored by Barbara Asamoah, Deputy General Secretary for Finance and Administration, vetting and elections shall occur between late June and late July following deliberations by the Functional Executive Committee earlier in June concerning the NDC’s International Reorganisation.
Founded at the advent of Ghana’s Fourth Republic, the NDC evolved from a revolutionary movement into a dominant social democratic institution, alternating governance with its principal rival and shaping national policy on welfare, decentralisation, and infrastructural expansion. According to political historian Dr. Mawuli Agbeko, the party’s longevity derives from its symbiotic relationship with the working class, though he cautioned that ideological drift and bureaucratic ossification could dilute its mass appeal if unaddressed.
The impending reorganisation offers a crucible for renewal, urging comrades to transcend factional interests and recommit to probity, inclusivity, and transformative leadership. He extended goodwill to party faithful, emphasising that fidelity to founding precepts remains the compass for electoral resurgence and national progress.
