Child Rights Group Demands Justice in Police Scandal

Child Rights International (CRI) has called for swift and decisive action against a police officer implicated in the alleged defilement of a minor. According to #Peacefmnews, the incident has sparked outrage and concern among human rights advocates, who are urging authorities to ensure that justice is served.
CRI Executive Director, Nana Oye Lithur, emphasized the need for accountability, stating that the alleged actions of the police officer are a gross betrayal of public trust. She called on the Ghana Police Service to expedite investigations and ensure that the perpetrator is brought to book.
The alleged incident has raised concerns about the safety of children in Ghana and the need for stronger measures to protect them. CRI is working closely with law enforcement agencies to ensure that the victim receives the necessary support and protection.
Ghana has laws in place to protect children from abuse, including the Children’s Act, which provides for the protection of children’s rights and welfare. However, more needs to be done to enforce these laws and prevent such incidents from occurring.
The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the matter, and CRI is urging the public to remain calm and allow the authorities to take their course.
