Government Clears Road Contractors’ Arrears

 

 

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has assured that all contractors working on ongoing and ‘Big Push’ road projects have been fully settled, with no outstanding arrears. According to #CitiNewsroom, the Minister made this statement during President Mahama’s inspection of the Kasoa-Winneba Highway project.

 

Agbodza emphasized the government’s commitment to major road infrastructure investment, highlighting the significance of the Kasoa-Winneba Highway project. “All contractors under ongoing and ‘Big Push’ road projects have been fully settled with no arrears… we don’t owe anybody one cedi,” he said.

 

The Minister’s assurance is expected to boost confidence in the government’s ability to manage the country’s road infrastructure development. The ‘Big Push’ initiative aims to accelerate the completion of key road projects, enhancing connectivity and economic growth.

 

President Mahama, who led the inspection team, expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway. The project is part of the government’s efforts to improve the country’s road network and facilitate trade.
