Volta Regional Secretariat
As I step forward to contest the Volta Regional Secretary position, my commitment is to transition our regional secretariat from routine administration to a dynamic, forward-looking engine room. Grounded in experience and driven by innovation, our strategic vision rests on seven core pillars:
1. Executive Welfare and Dignity
Comprehensive Life Insurance Policies: Under my stewardship, we shall institute reliable life insurance policies covering all current and former constituency executives, as well as dedicated party appointees and cadres (approx. 20 core beneficiaries per constituency). This ensures that those who sacrifice their time and resources for the party are protected against unforeseen life contingencies.
Safeguarding Human Capital: Recognizing that our executives form the backbone of our electoral success, this policy demonstrates that the party values, honours, and stands by its dedicated foot soldiers and leaders through both good and challenging times.
2. “Party as a Business” (Financial Independence)
Decentralized Commercial Ventures: We shall decentralize party administration down to the constituency level to establish and run sustainable commercial ventures. These will include commercial farming, transport services, and income-generating projects.
Breaking Financial Dependency: By creating localized economic pillars, we will generate internal revenue, reducing our over-reliance on central donations and ensuring that constituencies have financial autonomy to run grassroots activities year-round.
3. Infrastructural Development
Constituency Offices Construction: We will spearhead a coordinated, regional-level effort to construct permanent, well-resourced constituency party offices across all 18 constituencies where offices currently do not exist.
Equipping the Base: Moving away from makeshift or non-existent meeting spots, these permanent offices will serve as vibrant, professional, and accessible operational hubs for local meetings, strategic planning, and administrative work.
4. Employment Coordination and Opportunities
Structured Job Creation Frameworks: We will establish transparent, institutionalized coordination frameworks designed to channel employment, skills training, and economic empowerment opportunities directly down to party faithful and youth.
Bridging Loyalty and Advancement: Ensuring that hard work, loyalty, and dedication to the party translate into tangible economic progression, reducing frustration among the youth base and building sustainable futures for our members.
5. Inclusive Executive Empowerment
Institutionalizing Delegate Status: We shall champion structural party reforms to ensure that all former constituency and regional executives attain recognized delegate status.
Honouring Institutional Memory: This ensures that experienced hands who have previously served do not feel discarded after leaving office; instead, their invaluable wisdom remains active within our voting and decision-making structures.
6. Flagbearer Accountability and Regional Development
Binding Performance Contracts: We will lead the charge to institute a formal, binding performance contract with the eventual party flagbearer. This contract will explicitly detail specific infrastructural, economic, and developmental deliverables meant for the Volta Region as our “World Bank” reward.
Results-Oriented Engagement: Moving away from passive political patronage, this guarantees that our regional bloc leverages its massive electoral contributions to demand concrete, measurable progress from national leadership.
7. Modern Administration and Strict Discipline
Digital Transformation: We will implement state-of-the-art digital archiving systems to securely manage party records, membership databases, and historical information, bringing efficiency and transparency to the secretariat.
Discipline and Merit-Based Recognition: We will enforce uncompromising party stability and strict operational discipline while introducing a merit-based awards system (suggested by Anchor) to celebrate and reward hardworking executives, branch members, and coordinators.
