The Deputy Minister of the Interior, Hon. Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, has launched a four-day initiative aimed at engaging youth in selected “hotspots” on conflict prevention. The programme, ‘Dialoguing with the Youth in Selected Hotspots on Conflict Prevention,” brings together young people from Nima and other vulnerable communities to discuss ways to prevent violence and promote peace.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, the initiative is part of efforts to address the root causes of conflict and promote social cohesion. Hon. Terlabi emphasized the importance of youth involvement in conflict prevention, stating that they are key stakeholders in shaping the country’s future.

The programme features interactive sessions, discussions, and workshops aimed at equipping the youth with skills to manage conflicts and promote peaceful coexistence. Participants include young people from Nima, Accra, and other areas identified as hotspots for conflict.

The initiative is expected to contribute to the reduction of violence and promotion of peace in the targeted communities. The Ministry of the Interior has been working with stakeholders to address issues related to conflict and insecurity in the country.

The launch of the initiative has been welcomed by stakeholders, who believe it will go a long way in promoting peace and stability in the country. The programme is being implemented in collaboration with local authorities and civil society organizations.
