NDC Mourns Loss of South Tongu Communications Officer

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is mourning the loss of its South Tongu Constituency Communications Officer, Mr. Nicholas Aklorbortu, who passed away last year on Farmers Day. According to party sources, Aklorbortu was involved in a fatal accident while returning from Farmers Day celebrations in Ho to Sogakope.
The accident, which occurred on the spot, claimed his life instantly. The news of his passing sent shockwaves through the party, with many expressing their condolences and paying tribute to his service.
Gabriel Tanko Komigah-Atokple, a party member, and Volta Regional Republic to the Council of State paid tribute to Aklorbortu on Facebook, saying “RIP MR. NICHOLAS AKLORBORTU !! You Served the NDC Well !!”.
Aklorbortu’s contributions to the NDC, particularly in the South Tongu Constituency, will be remembered. His dedication to the party and its ideals was evident in his work as Communications Officer.
The late Aklorbortu’s funeral was held on February 14, 2026, at the Sogakope Sports Stadium, bringing together party members and sympathizers to pay their last respects. The ceremony was a testament to his impact on the party and the community.
The NDC has lost a valued member, and his passing leaves a void in the party. The party extends its deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
