Mayor Steps in to End NHIA Protest Stalemate

The Mayor of Tema, Hon. Ebi Bright, has intervened to resolve a standoff at the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) office in Tema Central. According to 3NewsGH, the office was locked up by National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives in protest against alleged unfair appointment processes.
The protesting NDC executives claimed that the appointment process was exclusionary and favored certain individuals. The standoff resulted in staff being unable to access the office, disrupting NHIS services.
Hon. Ebi Bright met with the NDC executives and NHIA officials to resolve the issue. “We are committed to ensuring that the NHIS office operates smoothly,” he said. “We will work together to address the concerns raised.”
The NHIA staff have resumed work, and efforts are underway to address the grievances raised by the NDC executives. The Mayor’s intervention has been welcomed by residents, who are eager to access NHIS services.
