Dr. Robert Doh on Accelerating Probity, Accountability, and Development

Hon. Dr. Robert Kofi Doh, a prominent member of the Ho Central Constituency NDC, has outlined the party’s core philosophies as Probity, Accountability, and Development. These principles aim to promote good governance, transparency, and socio-economic growth.

The NDC emphasizes good governance, social protection, and economic empowerment to achieve these goals. The party’s focus on probity ensures integrity and honesty in governance, while accountability holds leaders responsible for their actions. Development is also a key aspect, focusing on sustainable economic growth and social progress.

The current NDC government under John Dramani Mahama has taken notable steps, including efforts by the Attorney General to extradite Ghanaians, regardless of affiliation, to face justice. This move is seen as commendable and reflective of the party’s foundational ethos.

According to the NDC’s 2024 Manifesto, the party is committed to promoting good governance, anti-corruption, and accountability. The party’s social democratic ideology prioritizes inclusive growth, quality education, and skills development.

The NDC’s core philosophies are not new; they are rooted in the party’s history and constitution. The party was established on the vision and leadership of Jerry John Rawlings, with foundational values of probity, accountability, equity, solidarity, and social justice.

As office holders, it’s crucial to maintain the highest ethical standards. Upholding probity and accountability is not just a moral obligation, but a strategic necessity for sustainable development. Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama has emphasized that probity and accountability are the foundation of sustainable development, protecting public resources and fostering confidence in national institutions.
