President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his commitment to transforming Ghana’s economy and governance structures, ensuring that the progress made is irreversible by future administrations. According to the President, his administration is focused on implementing policies that will have a lasting impact on the country’s development.
In a recent statement, President Mahama emphasized his determination to raise the bar on economic management and governance, making it difficult for subsequent governments to undo the gains made. This pledge is in line with his administration’s efforts to stabilize the economy and promote sustainable growth.
According to GhanaWeb, President Mahama’s vision for 2026 includes scaling up initiatives and delivering tangible results for citizens, with a focus on education, healthcare, and economic transformation. The President has also highlighted the importance of strengthening social protection, transforming the economy, and deepening democratic governance.
The President’s 120-day agenda, unveiled earlier, outlined ambitious plans to tackle Ghana’s pressing challenges, including economic stagnation, corruption, and environmental degradation. Key promises fulfilled include the nomination of a full cabinet, scrapping of draconian taxes, and the convening of a National Economic Dialogue.
President Mahama’s administration has also made strides in education, with the implementation of the “No-Academic-Fee” policy for first-year students in public tertiary institutions and the distribution of free sanitary pads to female students. The government has also launched priority job creation programs and established an Accelerated Export Development Council to promote exports.
As Ghana looks to the future, President Mahama’s leadership is expected to shape the country’s development trajectory. With a focus on sustainable growth, governance reforms, and social protection, the President is optimistic about Ghana’s prospects.
