Kpotosu Commissions Borehole, Donates Street Lights For Sokode Bagble Community
SOKODE BAGBLE NUKUABIAKOPE — The Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Hon. Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu, on Sunday, 8th November, 2026, commissioned a mechanised borehole to provide potable water for residents of Sokode Bagble Nukuabiakope.
The project was undertaken following an appeal by the community to the Member of Parliament for intervention to address its long-standing water supply challenges. The commissioning ceremony was attended by traditional leaders, community members and officials of the Ho Central Constituency.
Mr Wilson Akorli, Assembly Member for the Sokode Ando Electoral Area, expressed appreciation to the Member of Parliament for the provision of the mechanised borehole and street lights. He stated that prior to the intervention, residents travelled approximately 15 kilometres to access potable water.
Mr Akorli said the facility would significantly reduce the burden on residents, particularly women and children, and improve access to safe drinking water within the community.
In his address, Hon. Kpotosu emphasised the need for a culture of maintenance to ensure the long-term sustainability of the investment. He called for proper accounting for the use of the water to guarantee the availability of revenue for routine maintenance.
He further urged the community to constitute a management committee to oversee the operation of the facility and to ensure that it functions as an income-generating venture for the benefit of the community.
Hon. Kpotosu also donated street lights to illuminate the streets of the community, a measure intended to enhance security and promote comfortable night-time activity.
He further called on traditional leaders to embrace large-scale communal commercial farming, which he indicated he is prepared to finance, to promote gainful employment and improve the living conditions of residents. Howedey.com will continue to monitor developments in the community.
