Bentil Dismisses Alan Return To Lead NPP in 2028

Vice President of IMANI, Kofi Bentil, has declared that Alan Kyerematen cannot return to the New Patriotic Party and lead it into the twenty twenty-eight elections, insisting that such a scenario will never happen.

The emphatic dismissal, delivered amid renewed speculation over Alan’s political future, directly contradicts the former flagbearer aspirant’s recent condition that he would only consider rejoining the NPP if invited to lead it as its presidential candidate.

According to Kofi Bentil, “Alan Kyerematen cannot return to the NPP and lead the party into the twenty twenty-eight elections. It will never happen,” he said, closing the door on a proposal that has animated debate within opposition circles.

That categorical intervention draws upon the political realities confronting the NPP, where Dr Mahamudu Bawumia remains the established flagbearer after securing a decisive mandate in the recent primaries, and where the party under Chairman John Boadu is consolidating structures ahead of the next general election.

Alan Kyerematen, who resigned from the NPP after years of service to pursue his own transformational agenda, has argued that he remains the best person to unite the party and secure victory, a claim that continues to resonate with segments of the grassroots but which party leadership has treated with circumspection.

Ultimately, Bentil’s pronouncement underscores the deep institutional complexities surrounding political comebacks, signaling that personal ambition must yield to party cohesion, constitutional processes, and the collective judgment of delegates if the NPP is to present a credible and unified front.
