Dr Stanley Glate Demands Equity NDC Volta Regional Elections

A Regional Secretary hopeful for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region, Hon. Dr. Stanley Nelvis Glate, has called for equity and regional balance in the upcoming NDC regional elections, insisting that no government appointees should covet any regional positions. He made the call on Ewenyigba TV’s Exclusive with Tony Mark-Boye.

According to Dr. Glate, the Volta Region remains the stronghold of the NDC and must be managed with fairness, inclusiveness and respect for grassroots structures. He said “There is a need for equity and regional balance in the upcoming NDC elections. No government appointees should covet any regional positions,” stressing that party administration must remain separate from government appointments.

Dr. Glate highlighted his long record of service to the NDC, notably as Volta Regional President of Lecturers for Mahama in the 2024 elections. He disclosed that over 400 lecturers were trained under his leadership to help in various capacities including serving as polling agents, collation, research and voter education, a contribution he says helped bring the NDC to power.

With over 15 years of political activism, Dr. Glate served as Ho Central Constituency Secretary from 2009 to 2019, first Volta Regional TEIN President (2006-2010), founder of the Volta Regional Communications Team in 2009, Member of the Regional Executive Committee, and Convener of Lecturers for John Mahama.

Professionally, Dr. Glate is a Lecturer at the Department of Marketing, HTU Business School, Ho Technical University, with a PhD in Marketing from the Central University of Technology, South Africa (2019-2024), MPhil Marketing from University of Ghana, BSc Marketing from University of Cape Coast and HND from Ho Polytechnic. He is a member of the Governing Council of HTU, Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana and has published extensively in political marketing and consumer behaviour.

Dr. Glate says his core competencies in leadership, organizational management, integrated marketing communication and negotiation, coupled with his grassroots experience, make him the ideal candidate to restore equity and regional balance as Volta NDC Regional Secretary.
