Dressed in Dignity
“Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.” — Proverbs 31:25
KJV
God wants you dressed in dignity. Dignity is not pride; it is honour. Dignity is not about expensive
clothes; it is about a life clothed with strength and honour. When God dresses you, no man can
undress you. The world may try to clothe you with shame, with disgrace, with reproach, but God
clothes His own with dignity. To be dressed in dignity is to carry yourself with the consciousness
of who you are in Christ. You do not behave anyhow, you do not talk anyhow, you do not live
anyhow. You know you are royalty. “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood” — 1 Peter
2:9 KJV. Royalty does not dress in rags. Royalty does not beg. Dignity makes you walk with honour,
speak with grace, and live with self-respect.
Dignity comes from knowing God has clothed you. Adam tried to cover himself with fig leaves
and still felt ashamed. But God clothed him with coats of skins. Fig leaves are man’s effort, but
coats of skin speak of sacrifice — the blood of Jesus that clothes us with righteousness. “I will
greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the
garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness” — Isaiah 61:10 KJV.
You are not clothed in shame; you are clothed in salvation.
The enemy wants you clothed in shame, guilt, and inferiority. But when the Holy Spirit comes
upon you, He removes shame and clothes you with strength and honour. He lifts your head. He
restores your self-worth. He makes you rejoice in time to come because you know your future is
glorious.
We are dressed in dignity by the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one who clothes us with strength.
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you” — Acts 1:8 KJV. That
power is not just to preach; it is to live with dignity. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you
stop living in disgrace and you begin to live in honour, in strength, and in glory.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for clothing me with salvation and righteousness. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit
and dress my life with dignity, strength and honour. I reject shame and I receive Your glory. Let my
life reflect the royalty You have made me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
