Government cannot dissolve the Ghana Football Association, Sports Minister Kofi Adams has clarified, stressing that the GFA is an autonomous association governed by FIFA statutes. The Minister made the statement in response to growing calls for dissolution of the football governing body.

The clarification follows recent public pressure led by some government officials including Minister for Communications Sam George who wants the Black Stars disbanded for two years and the GFA dissolved for a complete rebuild, even if it attracts a FIFA ban.

Sports Minister Kofi Adams further assured Ghanaians that government remains committed to supporting Ghana football through policy, funding and youth development, but within the confines of international football governance. He urged fans to channel their frustrations into constructive engagement rather than calls for dissolution.

The debate continues to trend on Howedey.com as Black Stars fans remain divided over whether Ghana needs a radical two-year reset or steady reforms under the current GFA leadership.
