Speaking to Howedey.com after his vetting at around 8:25 pm on Saturday, 17th October, 2026, at the Volta Regional NDC Office in Ho, an elated John-Paul Semavor addressed the press amidst jubilant crowds who waited patiently to support him. The long delay, caused by the petition against his candidature, tested the patience of his supporters but ended in victory.
According to him, the attempt to disqualify him only strengthened his resolve to serve. He thanked the Abraham Amaliba-led vetting committee for upholding justice and fairness, and for ensuring due process prevailed. The committee, which vetted aspirants from October 16-17, had to carefully review the petition before clearing him for the Deputy Regional Secretary contest.
The Volta Regional NDC Executive elections are scheduled for November 14-15, 2026, with filing held on October 14-15 and vetting from October 16-17. John-Paul Semavor is now set to contest for Deputy Regional Secretary alongside other cleared aspirants, heading into the final stretch of campaigns.
