Yagbonwura Storms Anloga As Gonja Overlord Joins Hogbetsotso Festival

This historic visit highlights the deep cultural ties, mutual respect, and powerful unity existing between the traditional kingdoms of Ghana. The Yagbonwura, who is the Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom in the Savannah Region, is expected to join Togbe Sri III and the Chiefs and people of Anlo to celebrate the legendary exodus of the Ewe people from Notsie.
The presence of the Yagbonwura in Anloga is expected to attract thousands of visitors and showcase Ghana’s rich chieftaincy diplomacy. The Hogbetsotso Festival, celebrated on the first Saturday of November every year, commemorates the migration of the Anlo-Ewes and remains one of Ghana’s most colourful traditional festivals.
Howedey.com will be live at Anloga for full coverage of this year’s Hogbetsotso Festival as history is made with the Gonja Overlord’s attendance.
