Minority MPs broke into patriotic songs as the caucus addressed the press following the Speaker recall of the House for a one day emergency sitting in Parliament House Accra. According to release from the Speaker of Parliament Kingsford Bagbin, the recall is authorized under Article 112 3 of the 1992 Constitution and Standing Order 53 to consider urgent business. The release stated that the one day emergency sitting will handle matters of national importance requiring immediate legislative attention. Minority leadership said the patriotic songs demonstrate readiness to defend national interest.
