Church Demolition Sparks Outrage At Amrahia
Tears and indignation swept through Amrahia Dairy Farms as congregants of Heaven Investment Chapel International, Oyarifa, joined displaced residents to denounce the alleged unlawful demolition of their sanctuary and homes, describing the operation as clandestine and devoid of judicial sanction.
Protesters besieged the site brandishing placards and lamenting the destruction, asserting that the exercise was orchestrated without court authorization or prior notification. They identified Clemence Djato, Jolly Homes, and Global Delivery as principal actors behind the demolition, alleging complicity of influential state functionaries.
According to #AdomOnline, aggrieved worshippers contend that multiple petitions dispatched to regulatory and security agencies have languished unaddressed, deepening perceptions of institutional impunity. They are beseeching intervention from the Presidency, the Police Service, the Christian Council of Ghana, and the National Peace Council to adjudicate the impasse and forestall further dispossession.
The disputed enclave at Amrahia has long been mired in land title contentions, with ecclesiastical bodies and private developers frequently entangled in protracted litigations over possession. Legal analysts note that extrajudicial demolitions contravene due process guarantees enshrined in the Constitution and risk inflaming communal tensions.
Affected families now face homelessness and spiritual dislocation, while civil society voices warn that unresolved grievances could erode public confidence in property rights and state accountability. Calls for forensic audits of land documentation and independent inquiries into the demolition have intensified.
Authorities are yet to issue a formal response, as pressure mounts for mediation to restore calm and determine lawful ownership.
