NPP Communication Officer Slams Party Elders Over Criticism

The Communication Officer of the Ho Central NPP, James Geh, has criticized the party’s National Council of Elders for their recent comments, saying they are not leading the party in the right direction. According to Ewenyigba TV, Geh stated that the elders should refrain from making unguarded comments that discredit the party.

Geh specifically took issue with Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a founding member of the NPP, saying he should not claim to be a founding member while publicly criticizing the party. However, it’s worth noting that John Boadu, former General Secretary of the NPP, has disputed Tamakloe’s claim to being a founding member ¹.

Geh also dismissed claims that the 2024 presidential primaries were rigged in favor of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, stating that if the election was indeed rigged, Kennedy Agyapong would not have won. He urged the news media to treat comments from Tamakloe and Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng with skepticism, saying they do not feel part of the NPP.

The NPP has been experiencing internal conflicts, with the National Council of Elders recently appealing to members to halt campaigning and focus on rebuilding the party. The party’s Election Review Committee, chaired by Professor Mike Oquaye, is assessing the causes of their disappointing 2024 electoral defeat ².
